Channelling Yoda I am

My darling daughter popped round for lunch yesterday - homemade soup (broccoli, pea and nutmeg), accompanied by homemade cheese scones, with homemade ginger cake for afters. After we’d finished eating and were putting the world to rights, Nell jumped on her lap and was wrapped in her blanket á la Yoda-style.

It’s been a funny end to the week and I mean funny peculiar, not funny ha-ha. I’ve been feeling over-sensitive and unnecessarily reactive to various things but that could mostly be down to Mercury going retrograde in Pisces on Thursday. Anyway, I have plodded on. I’ve ordered fourteen packets of various herb seeds. And I’ve started planning out in my mind’s eye some ideas for the area in front of my shepherd’s hut which is currently a tatty mess. The biggest challenge I’ll face with the space is that it’s rather on the shady side but the farmer actually cut back the hedges this year so that will help somewhat.

On the upside, I was thrilled to learn yesterday that the writing/acting team who made the television comedy series ‘Ghosts’ is about to start filming a ‘Ghosts’ film!! This is excellent news! And there is a film coming out in a few days’ time called ‘Mother’s Pride’ which the trailer has led me to believe will be jolly good, so I shall go and see that because, quite frankly with all that’s happening in the world at the moment I need all the laughs I can find. The film stars Martin Clunes who I think is just wonderful!

The sun made an obliging appearance this afternoon so I dashed into the garden to do some more of the Winter tidy up and to spread a dumpy bag of eighteen month old leaf mulch onto the veg beds. Nell claimed to be helping too, but all she did was arse around getting her paws muddy.

  1. That might explain the last week or two for me , completely bonkers. Watching nutty behaviors and questioning my life choices!

    1. We are living in disturbing times, KJ. The only thing I can do is hold steady in my little world - look after my garden, reject consumerism as much as I can, and enjoy the simple things. I am giving the global news very scant attention and reading lots of fiction instead! We have to find our own way somehow. Oh, and cake - don’t forget cake!

Happy to have comments. Pleasant and amusing ones, obviously. From real people. Decent, nice and kind people. Thanks!
