Ready…Steady…Advent!

This morning, Andy very kindly presented me with this lovely and very sturdy keep-it-for-years-to-come 3-D advent calendar. I have already put the tree pieces together and from tomorrow I shall be adding each day a little woodland creature or piece of additional scenery.

Now, yesterday I spent some time trying to gather a few photos together in order to illustrate each of the twenty four days of the MMM Christmas Story 2025. And it was a tricky job on account of various copyright things and picture theft warnings and data shizzle, so what I thought I might do instead is to take a photo of each additional piece I add to my calendar and use those instead.

Of course, it means they will more often than not bear NO relation to the story episodes whatsoever as they gallop by, but to be frank, it’s all a bit bonkers this year and I am past caring about co-ordination. (If you could see me this morning, you’d be nodding and saying, ‘Oh yes, I see what she means.’

Picture problem solved, methinks! Brace yourselves…

  1. I’m looking for alternative to a proper Christmas tree as my allergies to pine has escalated the last couple of years so I can’t have one indoors. This looks like a great one! I might need to get past my aversion to the plastic ones. I know they have improved greatly the last few years.

    1. Oh no, KJ, that’s awful. Of course you don’t want to exacerbate your allergy and there are some good alternatives to be had. We had a plasticky tree - bloomin’ expensive but it did have built in lights - a few years back. It was very realistic BUT the lights failed after just one year. I was suddenly very unimpressed.

Happy to have comments. Pleasant and amusing ones, obviously. From real people. Decent, nice and kind people. Thanks!
